About Willow Counselling
I help clients manage and at times overcome their mental and emotional issues.
Through offering a counselling service, I support individual adults & couples who are dealing with stress, anxiety, depression, postnatal depression, trauma, low self esteem, sexual-abuse, and more. Making that first appointment can be difficult, often daunting. I do my best to make this initial contact as comfortable as possible.
Currently working with clients both in-person in Cork, or virtually via Zoom.

Most people experience stress and anxiety from time to time. However, if stress and anxiety begin interfering with your daily life, it may indicate a more serious issue. I use different counselling skills and techniques to help my clients cope with the stress and anxiety they may be experiencing in healthy ways.

Grief is a natural response to loss. Often, the pain of loss can feel overwhelming and while there is no right or wrong way to grieve, there are healthy ways to deal with the grieving process. I explore the emotions a client is feeling to try and tap into the sadness, anger, guilt, regrets, and other emotions.

Sexual Assult
It's important to know that recovering from a sexual assault or abuse is a process, and that process looks different for everyone. It may take weeks, months, or years. There is no timetable for healing. I work with the person by giving them time and space to explore their feelings.

I provide a supportive and non-judgmental environment to help clients to identify issues or problems in their relationship and find a way through those difficulties. Counselling can support you with small or major relationship issues that are troubling you. A relationship does not have to be in crisis before you pursue counselling.

Low self-esteem is characterized by a lack of confidence and feeling badly about oneself and can really hold a person back from achieving what they want. People with low self-esteem often feel unlovable, awkward, or incompetent and tend to be hypersensitive. I often use CBT in my work with clients presenting with low self esteem to help a person gain passion and enthusiasm for their life.

In my work with individuals or couples experiencing infertility, my aim is to provide a safe place for my clients to express the difficulty and hurt they may be experiencing trying to negotiate their way through this often lonely and isolating journey. I work with my clients to help them acknowledge their own feelings about their fertility journey and I help them begin to build coping strategies to better deal with their feelings.
